Now in its 30th year, The J. Paul Austin Invitational Golf Tournament was started by Sam Austin in honor of his father, who passed away from Alzheimer's disease. This golf tournament is Sam’s way to honor his father’s memory and share a day of golfing at a place where he, his father and his son, Paul, love to golf. It is also an opportunity for participants to support a very important cause and enjoy a fantastic day of golfing on one of the most prestigious courses in America. Beginning this year, proceeds will benefit the Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Emory University. Founded in 2005, the Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) is one of 27 active centers in the nation supported by the National Institutes of Health. The goal of these centers is to bring scientists together to facilitate their research and help learn more about Alzheimer’s and related diseases. They are also committed to the education of health care professionals, persons with Alzheimer’s disease, their families, and our community to aid in understanding, diagnosis and treatment of these illnesses.
